ποΈ ποΈ Platform
The City Scanner platform proposes a drive-by solution to capture the spatiotemporal variation in environmental indicators in urban areas, such as air quality or the thermal flux of the built environment. Instead of relying on a dedicated fleet, the project began by deploying various types of environmental sensors on garbage trucks in the City of Cambridge.
ποΈ π§ Device
The Flatburn LTE device is based on almost a decade of experience in drive-by sensing, which resulted in a sturdy and compact device that can be deployed on vehicles of different sizes. See below all its features in depth.

This folder contains open City Scanner data sets collected in four deployments in three cities. Raw sensor readings were collected and calibrated following standardized air sensor performance evaluation guidelines recommended by the U.S. EPA. The general method is presented in the following diagram and details can be found in the open source calibration handbook.
